That's A Lot of Blogs
Check out this stat:
Technorati is now tracking over 70 million weblogs, and we're seeing about 120,000 new weblogs being created worldwide each day. That's about 1.4 blogs created every second of every day.
This information is from April 2007 so it's likely these numbers are even greater now!
That's a lot of blogs!
Any thoughts?

Communication Text Thoughts
After reading the Communication Chapter, post a comment that lists three things you learned from the reading. For example:
- Communication is not a one-way process.
- When communicating a sender can send any combination of verbal, vocal or nonverbal messages.
- Intrapersonal communication can be out loud or in your mind.

1-30-2008 (A Day) Happenings
I welcomed the new students to second semester and introduced myself as a Packer fan. We watched a clip from Sesame Street called "First Day of School History" and compared that to school and technology in today's world. I took attendance. Students were instructed to go to the front of the room and I randomly created a seating chart (alternating boy-girl). Students filled out the seating chart. Students were given a note card and filled out their name, class, team (by science teacher), favorite class, sports team, book, TV show and movie. I handed out the LRT Course Outline. Students read the course outline and I highlighted some important information. Students signed the Confirmation of Mr. Buckley's LRT-Buckley Guidelines, Expectations & Policies. I handed out the Semester 2 Packer Pass and explained how students could earn extra credit. Students received the February LRT Calendar detailing what we will be doing for the first 5 weeks of LRT. I handed out the Student Information Sheet and Parent/Guardian Sheet. We watched a video called Did You Know? Students then paired and shared their thoughts about the video. I offered some comments and students recorded the homework in their planner. Any remaining time was spent filling out the Student Information Sheet and Parent/Guardian Sheet.
- Be ready for a supply check--binder, writing utensil, planner, RIF material. (DUE Friday)
- Return Student Information and Parent/Guardian Sheet. (DUE Friday)
- Write down your email address used to set up your Blogger account with Mr. Forster. If you don't have one (or can't remember it), get an email address. Be sure to write down the email and bring it with you to class. (DUE Friday)
- Check Mr. Buckley's LRT Blog at www.mrbuckleyslrtblog.blogspot.com. (DUE Friday)
- Check the blog daily and complete any tasks that are added.
