Message to Mr. Buckley

It's been a great semester of LRT! I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching LRT and you, the students, have made this a fun and worthwhile class. If you'd like, please leave a message to wrap up the year. (This would be like writing a final message in a yearbook.)

Global Warming: Where Do You Stand?

After watching An Inconvenient Truth and The Global Warming Swindle, answer the following questions:
  1. Regarding the topic of global warming, do you strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree or strongly disagree.
  2. Provide three reasons to support your position on global warming. These reasons should have been presented in An Inconvenient Truth and The Global Warming Swindle.
  3. Provide one reason that counters your argument. Then explain (use other evidence) to refute that argument.
Be sure to number your answers and provide detailed responses.

6-3-2008 (A Day) Happenings

I checked for supplies and read off overdue books from the media center. I collected any outstanding Packer Passes and students also turned in missing Blog Logs #2. We watched Part 2 of An Inconvenient Truth. We then watched The Great Global Warning Swindle. Students recorded things they agreed and disagreed with for each viewpoint. Students then completed the LRT Year End Evaluation.

WORK CUTOFF DAY IS WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, June 4 is the final day to turn in any missing or late work. Please check your grade on Edline and make sure you are not missing anything. If you have any questions or would like to check directly with me, please let me know. Thanks.

An Inconvenient Truth Final Thoughts

Today we watched Part 2 of An Inconvenient Truth, a movie about global warming:
  1. List two things that you agreed with or believed were true while watching this movie.
  2. List two things that you disagreed with or questioned were true while watching this movie.
Be sure to explain in detail so others reading will understand what you are saying. Remember that you will be watching a counterpoint video to this movie with the goal of personally deciding what you believe is occurring with our planet.
