If you remember, a few weeks ago I posted a picture of my Yellow Labrador Retriever, Maddie and her pal Sophie. Sophie is my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's Golden Retriever. Last week Sophie passed away at the age of 13. She was a great dog and Maddie (as well as the rest of us) will miss her dearly.

Here's a picture of Nate and I at a Minnesota Gopher Football game. I am a Minnesota Gopher Football season ticket holder. Although the Gophers weren't very good this year, I still supported them wholeheartedly. I consider myself a true fan.

Ben is playing with doggie Maddie. Although Maddie is a very energetic Yellow Lab, she is incredibly gentle and tolerant of my two boys. They can sit on her and hug her and she just puts up with it.

My wife and I had a great time at the Packers-Vikings game on Sunday! Packers 34, Vikings 0. There is no place better to watch a football game than Lambeau Field! GO PACK!!!

THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS! Ever wonder what Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox, looks like? Here's a picture from a game I've attended there. The seats are small and uncomfortable but it is a great place to watch a game! Look to the left of me and you can see Wally the Green Monster! (If you don't know who that is, just ask.)

In honor of the Red Sox making it to the World Series, I've posted a picture of Nate and Ben in their Red Sox outfits. My wife, Sarah, is a huge Red Sox fan--almost as fanatical as I am about the Packers!

Michael J. 7/8A--This is a common question regarding LRT. And although we discussed this during the first day of class, it's easy to forget. LRT stands for Literacy, Research and Technology. We work to improve your ability to read--specifically to better understand what you are reading. Remember the Reading Content Strategies sheet I handed out (BEFORE, DURING, AFTER)? That will serve as a guide for becoming better readers. The Research element will show you different research strategies, specifically using the Internet to locate credible information. And finally, we'll provide experience in technology so you can succeed in the 21st century. We do all this through lots of fun and engaging activities. I hope that helps a little bit. You're always welcome to speak with me if you'd like too.
